Itinerary

Days 1, 2 & 3: Ashford Castle, Cong, County Mayo

The splendor of Ashford is everywhere. It is in the extensive woodland walks and vigorous country pursuits, the luxurious rooms, service, and warm welcome. Perhaps most importantly it is in the memories. Ashford Castle has retained the charm and dignity of its original architecture. Whether you seek out the exhilarating feeling of its regal open spaces or the more cozy and intimate corners, the professional friendly staff will be there to care for you. Mayo’s attractions include excellent angling or fishing waters, exciting walking and mountain climbing trails, a good choice of golf courses, and many opportunities for other types of activities, as well as some of the most interesting and historical sites in Ireland. Cong in County Mayo has several locations which were used in the film, The Quiet Man. Visit the main film locations in an organized tour, there are also daily walking tours. You may enjoy golf, fishing, hawk walks, clay shooting, cycling and horse riding on the estate.
